Rob Elstone, a native of Eskdale in Hawkes Bay, began his electrical career as an Avionics Technician in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, where he worked on the Iroquois helicopter and was deployed with the UN to East Timor.
With over 20 years of experience, Rob has held various commercial roles, including electrician and project manager, managing nationwide school data rollouts as part of a government upgrade project. He transitioned into the industrial sector with Panpac Sawmill, focusing on plant and safety upgrades and process improvements. Rob’s passion for machines and automation led him to Fruit Handling Systems, which later merged with Compac Sorting. There, he served as Electrical Workshop Manager and Automation Team Lead, specializing in machine safety, automation, and the design of UL and CE electrical installations for global exports.
